Job Description

CEN Resources are currently working in partnership with a well known engineering and design firm who are extremely successful within its sector delivering concept and detailed design engineering to clients across the chemicals, petrochemical, manufacturing and pharmaceutical industries. Due to the growth plans for operations in the central belt of Scotland, they are currently looking to recruit a Senior Process Engineer who will report into the relevant Principal/Lead Engineer. Once settled in, this role only requires the relevant person to be in the office once a week with the rest of time being spent working from home. 

The successful  applicant should be degree qualified and will be part of an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Designers working to deliver high quality output on projects. As well as possessing excellent technical skills and  client care, repeat business is crucial to our clients success, so you’ll need to be able to develop and nurture relationships with clients (both internal and external).

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Provide engineering services design and consultancy work  under the direction of the line manager or project lead.
• Produce design deliverables (including calculations, specifications, and reports), site surveys, construction stage duties, client liaison with members of design/construction teams, costing and ensure progress against the project brief
• Check deliverables produced by colleagues to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.
• Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions.
• Contribute to the preparation of enquiry plans, tender reviews, fee estimate sheets, scopes of work and change controls as required

Experience and Qualifications

• Membership of Institute of Chemical Engineers
• Chartered Engineer Status (or working towards this)
• Experience of both concept / front end design, and detailed design
• Experience of developing Process Flow Diagrams, P&ID’s, equipment datasheets and specifications
• Experience of standard process engineering calculations including pressure drop / pump sizing, control valve sizing, heat transfer, and heat & mass balance calculations
