Job Description

CEN Resources are currently working in partnership with a well known engineering and design firm who are extremely successful within within the Power sector. Our client delivers expertise across a range of different projects, these include interconnector and renewables schemes, including nuclear and solar power, offshore and onshore wind power generation and transmission, high (HV), extra high voltage (EHV) and distribution projects. Due business growth and and incoming projects, our client is looking to recruit a Senior OHL Designer Engineer for UK operations. With our client having various offices across the UK, they are happy for the successful individual to be based in any UK location within a hybrid capacity. 

The candidate should have experience in the production of all designs, calculations, reports & drawings associated with the new build or refurbishment of overhead line projects from 11kV – 400kV. You will also have experience in design of OHL with PLS-CADD and PLS-Tower.


Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed OHL design packages, compliant to required client and national technical standards.
  • Prepare calculations and technical/equipment specification documentation.
  • Undertake FEED stage projects, including production of technical reports and presentations.
  • Maintain compliance to CDM Regulations and all other legal and regulatory requirements associated with the nature of substation/P&C and electrical system design.
  • Manage the delivery of projects in accordance with Management Systems to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets.
  • Overall OHL design with PLS-CADD in accordance with BS-EN 50341.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in HV OHL engineering design in the electricity transmission & distribution sector
  • Thorough understanding of current Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.
