Due to growth, our client is looking to recruit a Senior Protection & Control Engineer for UK operations. having various offices across the UK, they are happy for the successful individual to be based in any UK location that enables them to work in a hybrid capacity. The successful applicant should  have experience with providing design, calculations, reports & drawings of high voltage projects from 11kV – 400kV. This will cover the production of single line diagrams, key line diagrams, wiring diagrams, technical specifications and other design deliverables detailed below. Experience in leading design aspects on a project

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design of protection systems for voltages up to 400 kv
• Develop scope of documentation and Main Connections & Protection Diagrams
• Experience developing single line diagrams and key line diagrams
• Experience developing equipment specifications

Experience needed

• Proven capability with the design or application of power system protection.
• Experience in the preparing detailed electrical diagrams for substation P&C.
• Preparation of P&C design deliverables, feasibility studies, reports and cost estimating.
• Experience of working on National Grid projects would be advantageous.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proficient in the use of MS office suite and basic awareness of specialized process safety software such as PHA Pro, Bowtie XP, PHAST, ALOHA, etc.

• Supporting Lead Process and Process Safety Engineers in all aspects of Process Design to deliver engineering solutions at Concept, FEED and detailed design project phases.
• Develop sizing calculations for Process equipment (Pumps, Heat Exchangers, distillation columns, compressors, separators, reactors etc.) and provide information in the form of equipment datasheet
• Preparing process equipment and instrument-related documents for project requirements

The Process Engineering Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of process engineering design and

management. This role requires a technically adept and highly motivated individual to manage and grow the

process engineering team, deliver high-quality engineering solutions, and ensure compliance with project

budgets and timelines. This role is instrumental in shaping the technical capabilities and performance of

of our clients process engineering team. This will be a Hybrid role where they successful applicant can split their working week between the office and working from home.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage process engineering services across studies, FEED, and EPC project phases.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure all designs meet client requirements, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.

• Supervise and review calculations, process designs, and deliverables, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

• Develop and approve Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process datasheets, and control philosophies.
• Conduct process design basis development, mass and energy balances, and material selection analyses.

• Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
• Support HAZOP, SIL reviews, and risk assessments to ensure process safety.
• Manage team performance, mentor junior engineers, and promote professional development.
